What are the 3 top qualities required to succeed in your role?

That's a great question, in truth the top three qualities vary from day to day, the recurring themes are:
1. Ability to thrive in a changing environment
2. Being calm and grounded, taking the time to reflect on situations, challenges, issues etc
3. Being decisive and driving actions that support decisions

For my role as Head of Talent Acquisition I think I would say that the top 3 qualities needed are a real focus on the customer - whether that is an existing employee as a candidate, an external applicant or the hiring manager themselves. In addition I believe agility is key as it's a very fast paced environment with a lot of change. Finally as I also lead a team I think the ability of being able to support, coach and develop my colleagues is key to success as a Talent Acquisition Team.

For all roles advertised, the requirements should be outlined within the advert as an overview of what we are looking for as well as some information about the role itself, the business and our benefits. I would also suggest reviewing the information on the careers pages which outline the Values as these are absolute key to our success.

Hi, I like Tim's answer above. From an actuarial perspective my top 3 would be similar:

1. Be open to change, which is key to how Phoenix operates. Challenge the status quo. Can you produce a more accurate answer, or could you produce an answer quicker or in a more efficient manner?

2. Be clear in communications. Be clear on what you've done, why you're happy with the result, why you may be unhappy with the result, what further actions are required. being a clear communicator can be quite difficult for someone of a maths or actuarial background!

3. Be attentive to detail, should be a standard attribute for anyone looking for an actuarial career
