The hardest part for me is finding the time to make all the good stuff happen. So I guess what I am really saying is the hardest part is prioritisation and doing this fairly and scientifically so people understand decision making and why somethings are more important than others.
The second hardest part then is saying not right now, but if you do the first part well it makes this conversation much easier.

For me personally I think it's time management. We're really lucky that Phoenix Group is an ambitious place to work where we always want to strive do do things better, faster and more efficiently so that means that in my current role not only do I focus on the day to day recruitment, but I also manage a team and have the opportunity to get involved in leading and collaborating on a number of projects and changes. It means that I deal with a lot of different people on a weekly basis and so have to be mindful of where I am best spending time whether that's in a meeting, replying to messages on Teams, some alone thinking time or in a face to face catch-up. I'm really lucky that we have some great people in the team who support me and also get involved in some of the opportunities for their own development.

What a great question! I think for me it's probably the pace of change we encounter sometimes at Phoenix Group. There are some great ambitions here and we want to do things better all the time with a view on continuous improvement which inevitably brings a lot of change. I personally enjoy change and the opportunities it generally brings to learn new skills, build new relationships and constantly develop but it does keep you busy!
