Do you really think the company offers enough flexibility for personal life?

Yes. I currently work a pattern of 4 days doing 8 hours per day. My manager is flexible if I need to finish earlier one day for childcare or personal reasons and I just work longer the other days of the week. Although I work a set 4 days I know that if I needed to be out of the office one day I could swap my day off or sometimes I do this to accommodate a meeting. I think if you are flexible and trustworthy to do your job, the company will support you with what you need. You have regular catch ups with your manager to ensure your work load is manageable and this is set between you and your manager as to how regular these meetings are. They need to suit you both and be agreed to meet individual needs.

I believe Phoenix do offer enough flexibility to give you a good work/life balance. I work 35 hours a week over 4 days, I have Friday's off for personal reasons. My manager, and Phoenix in general were very supportive when I requested to move to a 4 day working week, working my full-time hours over 4 days. Despite this being my regular working pattern, my manager is very clear that I could choose to move my Friday off to a different day in the week on occasion if there was a week where a different day off would be more suitable for me for personal reasons, or if it meant I could attend a meeting I would otherwise miss. I think if you are flexible, open and honest with your manager, and they can trust you to perform your role then you will receive the support you need.
