I started in retail, before plunging into the world of Finance!

I would say one of my most important career moves was the retail move to finance and embracing the art of communicating with customers over the phone/correspondence rather than face to face. Then exploring a number of different teams to gain the personal development I needed to finally end up as Team manager within the existing business call centre for mortgages. I was fortunate to work with some great people and exceptional line managers who were very passionate about development and that gave me my mojo! Don’t get me wrong this was a very challenging time due to the financial crash, increased workloads and a very performance driven environment. But to this day my passion still remains in these areas ‘Leadership and Development of people’. Another important career move for me was taking the plunge to go back into the world of finance having had 8 years managing multiple roles within our family business, I really felt a need to get back into the world of finance and fulfil my Leadership and Development of people urge! Which is when I found myself at Reassure now part of the Phoenix Group. Within Phoenix I have personally had many opportunities to grow and develop into the role I am currently in as ‘Regulatory Analysis & Support Manager’ along with great support from various line managers and teams. However, I never forget the importance of having the customer at the heart of everything we do. When I look back at my career even from a young age working in restaurants/retail the customer was always centric and this still remains.

I lead a team to ensure our business remains regulatory complaint

To lead the team in delivering a range of services and projects to meet all stakeholder requirements. In particular, to be responsible for oversight of the Regulatory Analysis & Support Team, including ensuring engagement with all relevant projects from a Regulatory stance, oversight of Discretionary Death Decisions/Overseas Transfers, ensuring regulatory deadlines are adhered to for HMRC reporting and the annual Stakeholder Audit and production of MI.
