Tell me about the hardest thing about your job?

The hardest part of my job is to try and remain organised during times of significant change. Our industry/business is complex and large. This brings with it many challenges such as regulatory change, system updates, reporting standard updates. Sometimes these changes can have a significant impact on my time and put a strain on my BAU responsibilities. Trying to ensure that critical activity is completed to a good standard, continue to manage the team effectively and also deliver on project requirements is a challenge. This involves making space for dedicated time with my senior leadership/peers to spread our resource, prioritise our tasks amongst the team and communicate our position with our key stakeholders. Everything in isolation is manageable. The combination of work is where having a good team is critical and I think the team at Phoenix are great at supporting each other during these challenging experiences.
